Why is there a fee?

Under the Canada Health Act, NPs are not able to bill OHIP for their services.  Therefore, there is no way to fund this type of service.  This is why it must be fee-for-service.

Fees are reflective of the type of service rendered to the client and the time of the clinician.

You may encounter NPs who are part of a clinic or team that is funded by the Ministry of Health and Longterm Care.  That is why there is no cost associated with their services.

Do you accept insurance?

Some private health insurance plans cover Nurse Practitioner services.  However, we do not bill any insurance companies directly.  It is the responsibility of the customer to submit receipts for reimbursement.

Who is eligible to use these services?

Any resident of Ontario may book an appointment.  We ask for a health card number since OHIP will cover the cost of diagnostic tests when ordered by an NP.

If you do not have a health card, you may be required to pay for diagnostic tests out-of-pocket or submit receipts to your private insurance plan.

How does this service work?

  1. Book appointment online on a date and time that is convenient for you.

  2. Fill out the intake form.

  3. Attend your appointment online.  You will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet.  For an optimal experience, a webcam is strongly recommended.

  4. An invoice is sent to your email after the appointment.

How is your service different from my regular health care provider?

This service does not replace your regular health care provider.  This service provides after-hours online care for episodic or "one time" non-emergent issues.  For example, this can include a cold, earache, rash, or a bladder infection.  See full list here.

It is a convenient alternative to walk-in clinics and the emergency department.  Spend fewer hours waiting and more time recovering.
